इस दुनिया में इतनी रुसवाई क्यूँ होती है
हमारी हमारे ही अहसास से जुदाई क्यूँ होती है
हमसे किसी का इंतज़ार नहीं हो पाता
कोई हमारा राह भी नहीं तक पाता
इस दर्द को हमदर्द से शिकायत ये होती है
सबसे ज्यादा करीब मेरी परछाई क्यूँ होती है
रात में ये परछाई भी साथ छोड़ जाती है
बाद इसके सिर्फ तन्हाई ही साथ रह जाती है
तन्हाई को शिकायत कि परछाई का अहसास क्यूँ
परछाई को गुस्सा कि तन्हाई के पास क्यूँ
एक समय ऐसा कि दोनों का साथ छूट जाता है
हाथ में बस रुसवाई का हाथ रह जाता है
इस दुनिया में इतनी रुसवाई क्यूँ होती है
हमारी हमारे ही अहसास से जुदाई क्यूँ होती है

But then why there is sense of loneliness and missing friends? …

But then why it’s not as tempting to go to and linger around?
How one plate “papdi chaat” changed to large size Pizza
But then why there is no much hunger?
How weekly “Chitrahaar” on Doordarshan changed to On-demand Direct-TV
But then why is TV rarely ON?
How an old desktop changed to sleek IBM Thinkpad
but then why it’s the most hated object at home?
How a “Three tier sleeper class” train journey changed to Flight journey
But then why journey feels longer and more tiring?
How “Raja shopping centre” changed to un-ending Wal-Mart
But then why it feels more unsatisfying while coming out
How a bus commute has changed to cool drive in own AC car
But then why there are no places to go except work …?

But then why it feels much farther from “desired financial freedom”?
Here I am sitting in the Balcony of my apartment…
Sipping wine and thinking about life
How it changed……….
Is this where I wanted to come?
Is this what I wanted to achieve as a child?
Is this the path I want to continue treading?
What all I am doing – is it in tune with “the urge from within” or because of “social-conditioning”?
Are these abstract thought waves “mental ripples” to go by OR they are “calls from within”?
May God give all of us strength and wisdom to follow our natural instincts, follow our “calls from within” because as they say “follow your instincts and everything will follow you!!!
